The first convocation of the University of Swabi was held at the Convocation Hall, University of Peshawar. Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Engineer Zafar Iqbal Jagra was the chief guest on the occasion. In the convocation, male and female students were awarded degrees. The students that were awarded degrees hailed from the department of Agriculture, Management Sciences, Zoology, Economics, English and Sociology. Overall, 276 students were awarded degrees, 76 of which were females. Alongside, 40 students were given away gold, silver and bronze medals. On this occasion, Mr. Sayed Akhtar Ali Shah, Chairman CM Inspection Team and member Syndicate, University of Swabi was conferred upon Honorary Degree of Ph.D in PCR due to his meritorious services.
Prof. Dr. Noor Jehan, the Vice Chancellor University of Swabi presented the Annual Report and stated that the University in its three years life has progressed by leaps and bounds. All these, she attributed to the selfless and untiring efforts of its faculty, administration and staff. She told that the University offers degree level education in 12 different Departments and the main focus has always been research centric. She further stated that it is her dream that the University of Swabi be considered among the top Universities of the country.
Honorable Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Zafar Iqbal Jagra, while speaking on the occasion congratulated the graduating students. While dilating on the services of the vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Noor Jehan, he hoped that the University of Swabi would have its own in the field of research. He stressed the faculty and staff to conduct research while keeping in view the industrial problems of the country, so that the research is profitable for the nation. On this occasion, the Governor announced cash prizes for the gold medalist students and also invited them to visit the Governor House.
On the conclusion of the ceremony, the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Noor Jehan , was presented life-time achievement award by the Governor, while the vice chancellor presented the University Souvenir to the Governor.
