The first Meeting of Board of Studies, Department of Sociology was held on August 22, 2015 at 11:00 AM in Committee Room of the University. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Dr. Mukhtar Alam, Dean, Faculty of Sciences, University of Swabi. The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Anwar Alam, Department of Sociology, University of Peshawar, Syed Farkhanda Shah, Assistant Professor, Economics, Govt. Postgraduate College, Swabi, Mr. Abdul Majid Khan, Head, Department of Sociology, University of Swabi, Mr. Abrar Ullah, Lecturer in Management Sciences, Ms. Sana Zakir, Lecturer, PCRS, University of Swabi.
The meeting commenced with welcome remarks by the Convener. Mr. Abdul Majid Khan, Head, Department of Sociology, apprised the participants about the University of Swabi and Department of Sociology.
The agenda items included consideration of scheme of studies, course outline, research thesis format and external examiners for BS and MA Sociology for onward approval. The members of Board of Studies unanimously approved the agenda items with suggestions for minor amendments.
The Board appreciated the progress made by the Department of Sociology in a very short span of time. The meeting was also attended by Dr. Hidayat Ullah, Assistant Professor, Department of Agriculture and Mr. Manzoor Ahmed, Lecturer, Department of Economics, University of Swabi.
The meeting concluded with the Chairperson thanking the participants and being thanked by them in return.
