Prof. Dr. Noor Jehan addressed on the eve of first Spring Plantation Drive at the University of Swabi.
On March 21, 2014, the first Plantation Compaign took place under the supervision of The Department of Agriculture. Worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Noor Jehan inaugurated the Plantation Campaign Ceremony by planting the first plant personally. She took the initiative to make the campus "Go Green". On this occasion she was accompanied by Dean of Sciences Prof. Dr. Mukhtar Alam, Director Admissions Prof. Dr. Saleemullah Khan and Director Administration Mr. Muhammad Riaz along with the Heads of Departments and Sections, Faculty members and a large number of students. The plantation drive has been started from March 21st, 2014 and will continue till March 25th, 2014. The objective of this drive is to plant approximately 5000 saplings inside and around the campus. While inaugurating Spring Plantation Ceremony, Prof. Dr. Noor Jehan said that trees play a vital role in purifying the environment that's why plantation not only helps us in purification but is a social obligation as well. She said that Pakistan is a land gifted with Nature and rich soil. If we take maximum out of it only then we will be in a position to give a beautiful , healthy and rejuvented Pakistan to our coming generations. She appreciated the efforts of Dr. Hidayat Ullah and Dr. Abad khan regarding the Plantation Drive, as they brought into use the abilities of the young students in an effective way.It is very significant to highlight the efforts of the students of University of Swabi, as they participated very enthusiatically in making the Spring Plantation Drive possible. The Vice Chancellor urged that she wants to see such kind of healty activities to be arranged in near future as well.
